Baby Eyes Of The Tiger

So I dropped a bunch of green on Christmas presents for the nephew, which I was glad to do.

The favorite present? Well he video-called to tell me about it.

It's a Tiger Hat, which also come with Tiger Mittens. It was a last minute grab at the store.

Apparently, he wears them all, day, every day, and cries when they come off. This baby, who was shy around strangers before, now goes up to everyone and roars, and if he forgets to roar at someone, insists they go back.

Here's a vid of him in action.

God Bless, this little man.

Zachs In Snow, Variations on a Theme

Snow! Our first big storm.

One Zach enjoys the snow from the heated comfort of the indoors.

The other Zach? Not so much.

What A Bunch Of Flakes

Seriously? After all that hullabaloo, this is all the snow we get?

Last night I was on the video chat with Amber while she was on hold with Delta on her iPhone and had Kevin on speaker on her BlackBerry as they tried to sort out their flight to San Francisco today (8am canceled, rescheduled for 5pm).

And this AM my boss, who lives in the Westchester, emails to say he's working from home due to the blizzard. And the Post has the not so witty pun headline, "Not Snow Fast."

All this for four inches? (almost sounds like a Mae West quote).

I'm just saying, for this much weather angst, I should be able to go outside and make a little snowman.

On the plus side, I'm going to wear dungarees and go in late to work due to "inclement weather."

Cats Is The Best Medicine

Wintry Mix!

You know those days when nothing makes you cheerful except Kitty Pictures? Well, just in case today is another stinker, this is for me!

I was recently sent a picture entitled "Baby's First Snow." Before Zach met me, he lived in a different city in an apartment with a balcony. Here's photographic evidence of his first encounter with the stuff:

He's older now, yet still full of mystery and wonder, and peas and vinegar sometimes.

For example, can someone please explain to me how this cutie beast

can turn into this beast, within just seconds?

Either way, he's a furr bucket of love.

Anyway, Zach has taken a little sojourn from my place, but I received this picture of him from his travels. His caption was "all tied up!" He's such a funny monkey.

Have fun, little boy!

With this, I'm off to work through the wintry mix.

Snow Day!

Now, I took today off, but still managed to wake up before 8 like a dummy. On the plus side, I'm still in jammies and probably will be for most of the day - take that, worker bees!

I was going to spend the day doing all my Christmas shopping, but according to Amber's Weather Forecast that would just be too risky. Instead, I'm going to tidy up my apartment since my friend Tim is coming to stay with me tonight, and he probably wouldn't like stepping on all of Zach's corks on the floor or picking through leftover delivery food boxes in the fridge whilst hunting for orange juice.

While I do this, I'm going to spend some time listening to holiday music.

Now, we all know the best Christmas Song Ever is "Fairytale of New York" by Kirsty MacColl and the Pogues, but it's not the ONLY Christmas song, nor even duet.

Here's a fun one that came out this year by Cyndi Lauper with this Swedish Band, the Hives:

Another great wintertime duet is "Baby It's Cold Outside." There are so many versions, but here's a clip from its debut performance by Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban in Esther Williams' multi-million dollar aquamusical, Neptune's Daughter.

And finally, here's Miss Grace Jones on Pee Wee Herman's Christmas Special, from 1988. This may be my fave at the moment.

Snow!

Whew! Yesterday was so busy that I didn't even have time to make a post. I did have time to have lots of meetings though, and even took a break to have some fun in the snow. Here I am in a little snowchair that I made. Brrr!

God Bless America.
