Someone Needs a Bear Hug!

This Anthony Weiner thing is just too ridiculous, I can't even comment. However, my favorite part, thank you New York Times...

On Monday evening, Mr. Weiner, who has kept a conspicuously low profile in recent days, canceled an appearance at a forum at Queens Pride House in Jackson Heights on the implications of health care reform for the gay community.

Pauline Park, President of Pride House, said Mr. Weiner, a proponent of gay rights, would have found a sympathetic crowd at the community center, which has hosted events ranging from Nepalese dance troupes to support groups for H.I.V-positive mothers and fathers and mixers for overweight, bearded gay men, who call themselves bears.
Oh, those overweight bearded gay men. They'd have been so sympathetic!

Content Poach FAIL

OK, so this site was popular for a while and not so much anymore, but that doesn't mean there aren't still some goodies in this collection of things that, um, Fail. So, a little content poaching seemed in order.

As someone who peddles books, I like this here library collection:

As someone who is sometimes a perv, this makes me laugh.

Dirty words! Foreigner accident!

Mmm, Grandma...

This is not how you save money on gas.

This might be?

Anyway, the end.

A Bendel Bonnet, A Shakespeare Sonnet

As we can all remember, I have the maturity level of a 12 year old. That's fine, I have no shame.

Whenever I'm see a sign advertising a certain thing that may be also be representative of a different certain thing, I take a picture of it.

To wit:

This is the only good thing about the JC Penney on 34th Street, which refuses to carry Size Small undershirts (some of us have small torsos!)

"Oh yeah, whatever, okey doke, I'm a bottom..."

The best part is that Evan took a pic of this too.

While this was NOT the best part of last year's trip to Charleston, it was fun spotting this with David while Elena tried on American dungarees:

I loved the juxtaposition of these two at the T.J. Maxx on the Cape, where Sarah taught me how you can complain about a scratch on sunglasses and get 10% knocked off the price.

Know what? It's not just clothing stores:

My favorite ever is probably this one I took in Sarah's office building. NEVER lock a bottom.

Anyway, on Sunday I got the Holy Grail at the Folsom Street East festival a few blocks away.

Yep, that's right - Tops And Bottoms Wanted Gum. God Bless, America.

Cuddle Party!

This was not on the agenda for this weekend, because, you know, Brooklyn.

Also, I was a little afraid it'd end up like this, except for the whole co-ed thing.

Turning Japanese-y

Here are some fun things I learned about Japan.

Their McDonalds' commercials are SPOOKY.

Their whales eat giant squid:

And finally, for now, here's my new favorite Japanese sitcom.

I can't wait for the American remake starring Joey from Friends.

God Bless, America. And also God Bless Japan.

Canada: Couches and Closets and Bears, Oh My!

So I'm back from Canada, just in time for my office holiday party, which begins at 3pm sharp. I'm looking forward to swiping a bottle of booze, going back to my desk, locking my door, and having my own party.

In the meantime, here's some of the snaps I took on my journey.

Since I don't have my own office in Toronto, my coworkers nicely made this couch my work station.

There's a coworker popping up behind me!

This sign in the cloakroom amused me to no end. I was so tempted to see who was inside!

And I believe you've already seen my new friend, the Cheetoh Colo(u)red Polar Bear near the office. I have no idea what this is, but I now have a greater appreciate for Art, Canada-Style.

And now, time for Office Cheer.

!El Oso Mas Fantastico!

I love this little bear. He's the mascot for Caja Madrid, one of Spain's larger banks. I'm guessing it's like the Citibank or Chase of Spain, because their signs are all over the place. I have many pictures of the logo - I think I love it so much because it looks like this cutey bear is standing at the ATM, taking money out of his account.

I hadn't thought of Caja Madrid in a long time, but recently they sent me an email. I'm not quite sure what it says, or if it's spam, but it sure is cute.

Gracias, Caja Madrid, for the good times.

Bears!

I have spent the last 24 hours in Canada. In Canada, I can confirm that they like Moose and Bears.

The men in my life sure seem to like bears.

My dad and his bear seem to be on good terms, but I think Tyler's bear is takings some liberties with his left hand.
What is it with Bears & the Bad Touch?
