Hello, dear Internals Plural readers. It's me, ALH, sometimes guest blogger for CRD while he is away in Florida. Or is he?
I felt horrible about letting him down yesterday by not getting around to guest blogging, and then I started to ask myself Don't they have Internet in Florida?
And then I read this article in the Mail Online. And I noticed the "coincidences" just piling up. CRD is "away," "someplace without Internet," and he "doesn't answer his cell phone."
Remind you of anyone? I think by "business trip" CRD means "three day bender with some mountain gorillas." The facts speak for themselves.
On my walk to work today I saw this billboard, for a new TNT program starting in December.
I don't know anything about it except what I learned from the poster. It seems there are five characters and they each have certain special traits - there's an Imposter, a Muscle, a Thief, and two more which I can't read because it wraps around a building.
I probably won't watch this program, but all bets are off if it shows up on hulu.com or in the DVD bin at the NYPL. In any event, it reminded me of a different awesome program with five individuals with special traits, and yes, I'm speaking of you, Dirk Benedict.
Personally, I always wanted to be Face so I could drive that awesome Corvette. I even had the action figures (not dolls!), down to the black van with the red stripe and, of course, the sports car.
Anyway, this madeliene of a billboard led me down a mnemonic knuckerhole that eventually reminded me of the awesomest thing I've forgotten about in a long time.
Why don't they show this on Saturday mornings anymore?
This brave little buddy sure is a smarty. I can't remember if this move is from one of the Charlie's Angels movies or Mission Impossible or what, but color me impressed.
I love too how his little buddies watch on with great interest.
My Nana's generation had Clark Gable & Cary Grant. My parents, Warren Beatty & Robert Redford. How lucky am I that I got to meet the 21st Century equivalent this weekend?
I caught him by surprise and even air-smooched him!
I have foolishly been wasting my time at the gym doing silly Calf Exercises like this one:
What a waste of time. I learned this weekend that the fastest way to beef up my calves (a pun!) is to go up and down five flights quickly, holding heavy, ironic, or awkward items.
Right now my "gastrocnemius & soleus muscles" are in a bit of pain, but I can only imagine how large and beautiful they'll be once those muscles put themselves back together again - as if I'm in chunk-heeled shoes all the time. I think soon they'll look like this:
