Today is one of those Days Of Awesomeness that we all look forward to in our lives, because Amber is moving her rump back to NYC.
All I know is I have a queue full of programs for watching, and we're going to get down to business. Every day is Awesome Club hence forth.

That Puss Don't Hunt
This week, on account of visiting foreigners, I am busy like the busiest beaver. I sure am glad there are people out there on the lookout for freaky things.
James found this. It's the scariest thing I have seen since Patti LuPone singing on the Tony's.
Their website is here and it is more addictive than Crack Cocaine.

Happies Birthday
Today is a great day in American history, on account of two of the folks who made this country great were born today: Miss Betty Hutton and Sir Johnny Cash.
This is one of my favorite Betty Hutton songs. In it she celebrates love, and that holy trinity of American idols - Doctors, Lawyers, and Indian Chiefs.
Once, Amber and I watched a really sad Johnny Cash video, of him covering a Nine Inch Nails song. It was all about death and sadness and getting old. This is not that.

Mama Long Legs
This weekend I got to watch the awesome movie Dangerous When Wet. I chose it because I'm a big fan of multi-million dollar aquamusicals featuring Miss Esther Williams, but it turned out I was also enamored by Miss Charlotte Greenwood.
Greenwood was a ye olde time vaudevillian, and popped up as an old dame in a number of musicals, notably as Aunt Eller in Oklahoma. She was six feet tall and either was double-jointed or made of pisketti.
I sure like this number here with her & William Demarest. They just don't make 'em like they used to.

Snow!
Boy howdy, was I surprised to look out my window this morning and see all that snow. I had no idea it was going to be this Wintry outside.
One day in the past (on "Christmas 1980" according to the writing on the back of the picture), my sister and I assembled outside for a picture. My sister looks very cute in her tiny coat and muff, and I guess I look cute clutching a toy horse and what appears to be a Batmobile.
God Bless, America.

Danger! Lawn Darts!
Much like Chex Party Mix, Lawn Darts were a fixture of my youth. Well, maybe not a fixture, but I do remember playing them with my teenage uncles on my grandparents' lawn.
Can you imagine who had that bright idea for a game involving throwing large heavy darts around small children? I think we played it at Easter, right by the egg hunt. God Bless, America.

It's Time To Get Things Started
When we were in Northboro this weekend, we found a treasure trove of pictures from the Past. This one here is one of Tyler's favorites. I think he likes it so much because it was probably supposed to be a picture of my Nana and baby sister, and then I jumped in. But I ask you, who wouldn't be excited to get a Muppet Movie Poster?

Weekend In New England
Tyler and I are taking some advice from Sir Barry Manilow and we're spending the weekend in New England.
I'm excited to see my Mom (not pictured), my dad, & my Nana.
I asked Tyler what he was most looking forward to, and he said "Target." Last time he & my mom filled up a whole shopping cart!
-------------------
While we're there we'll also be thinking good thoughts about Gray Boy, Kevin's cutie puss who is feeling under the weather. I first met Gray Boy when he was a wee thing that fit in my hands and for some reason only walked backwards. Good thoughts, Gray Boy!

That's Coffee
On Saturday night, Tyler and I saw Christine Ebersole in the Encore production of Applause, the 1970 musical adaptation of Bette Davis' All About Eve starring Lauren Bacall. It was perhaps the gayest night ever.
I can only second Dame Elaine Stritch's comments about Ebersole.

Groundhog Day!
This weekend, Punxsutawney Phil will pop out of his hole in the ground and let us know if we will have an early spring or six more weeks of winter. I am probably more excited about learning this than I am about learning the Democratic Presidential Candidate. At least with Spring vs. Winter, I know exactly where I stand and won't change my mind ever.
I learned from the Internet that The Groundhog is a member of the Marmot Family, and is not an ape, and that Phil is not the only famous one. Here's a short list of my other faves:
* General Beauregard Lee, PhD found in Atlanta, Georgia
* Balzac Billy of Balzac, Alberta
* Shubenacadie Sam of Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia
* Spanish Joe of Spanish, Ontario
* Sir Walter Wally of Raleigh, North Carolina
* Pardon Me Pete of Tampa, Florida
Here's me with Monterey Monty, of Monterey, CA. Here's hoping for Early Spring!
