Awesome Club (now with Bacon!)

Amber and I had a great time at Awesome Club this weekend. Activities included, but were not limited to:

- Brunch
- Zoo
- Couch
- Programs
- Amuse Bouche
- Mac & Cheese
- More Programs
- Bed

I don't know who invented the Bloody Mary with BACON, but if Al Gore can get a Nobel Prize, this person should too. You'll note a wee friend on the tablecloth.

We also had Aphasia Club. Sample Dialogue:
CRD: If this salsa is 'medium,' I wonder what Paul Newman considers 'mild.'
ALH: Yes it is.

Sometimes I felt like Alice B. Toklas.
Awesome Club rocks!

Awesome Club

This weekend Amber and I are going to have Awesome Club by me going to DC for a visit. We are going to have Intellectually Stimulating and Humorous Good Times.

We're going to drink Bloody Marys, shop at Whole Foods™, watch Programs, drink Red Beer Floats and have Red & White for dessert. And we're not going to stop until Amber passes out with the laptop in her lap and the kitty ears on her head.

Coffee & Chums

On Fridays, I need a lot of coffee. In San Francisco, I have my coffee in the morning on the pier with the seals. Back in NYC, I have my coffee in the morning with Zach. While I prefer Zach, the seals are larger.

Shark Eyes!

One awesome thing we did in SF was go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We got to see a Great White, which are very rare in captivity. Sarah and Doug and I saw a different Great White when we went in 2004, but Tyler had never seen one. They are definitely Foes, but the fascinating kind, like that other great San Francisco foe, May Day.

Another fish we saw was Ugly Fish. He was so ugly it made me uncomfortable, but that's OK.

Irony, San Francisco Style

Tyler was SO excited to go to Alcatraz Island, it was all he could talk about on our trip. I liked it when people called it The Rock because I thought we were going on a trip to see the Other Rock, but no dice.

Sadly, the tour was SOLD OUT on the day we planned to go. We learned that to Assume you can get tickets the day before makes an Ass out of U and Alcatraz.

So close, and yet so very far away.

Friends and/or Foes!

The polls have closed on our first ever international poll (thanks Shelley!) and it turns out Alligators are our friends, by a narrow margin of 4 to 3.

Here are some of our friends and foes. Do you know which is which?

Kevin took this one in Africa.

Foe - From Shelley, in New Zealand.

Colleen took this one in Costa Rica.

I don't know where this one came from, but I sure hope it's a Friend.

Jen sent in this one. Again, hopefully a friend, since it goes around your neck.

Zach took this one of his Pop-Pop with a Friend.

The final result? Polls are fun!

Vacation (All I Ever Wanted)

Vacations are the best, especially Vacations San Francisco Style.

The only bad part about vacation was saying goodbye to the puss.

I stayed with Sarah and Sam. In the mornings Sarah and I drove to work together and Sam stayed in his jammies. Sarah then made her magazine and Sam made his pictures.

Dory D and I had tasty Peruvian food at Fresca. We each had the Lomo Saltado, which means Mountain of Saltiness.

When Tyler got off the plane, he thought he'd have to hoof it to SF on his own. I surprised him by hiding behind a bench.

The best part of vacation? I made a new friend.
