Friends and/or Foes!

The polls have closed on our first ever international poll (thanks Shelley!) and it turns out Alligators are our friends, by a narrow margin of 4 to 3.

Here are some of our friends and foes. Do you know which is which?

Kevin took this one in Africa.

Foe - From Shelley, in New Zealand.

Colleen took this one in Costa Rica.

I don't know where this one came from, but I sure hope it's a Friend.

Jen sent in this one. Again, hopefully a friend, since it goes around your neck.

Zach took this one of his Pop-Pop with a Friend.

The final result? Polls are fun!

Vacation (All I Ever Wanted)

Vacations are the best, especially Vacations San Francisco Style.

The only bad part about vacation was saying goodbye to the puss.

I stayed with Sarah and Sam. In the mornings Sarah and I drove to work together and Sam stayed in his jammies. Sarah then made her magazine and Sam made his pictures.

Dory D and I had tasty Peruvian food at Fresca. We each had the Lomo Saltado, which means Mountain of Saltiness.

When Tyler got off the plane, he thought he'd have to hoof it to SF on his own. I surprised him by hiding behind a bench.

The best part of vacation? I made a new friend.

Hello, Spaceman

In San Francisco, I stay with Sarah. Her boyfriend Sam is a photographer, and takes lots of cool pictures. I like this one of the Spacemen playing swings. I like to think it promotes inter-galactic mirth.

Free Day at the MoMA, San Francisco Style

The first Tuesday of every month is FREE DAY at SF MoMA, which means you save twelve bucks but have to line up behind a bunch of dirty hippies, teens on class trips, and pierced - yet sensitive - art students. The teens helpfully point out whenever there are "boobs" in the paintings. Still, it's nice to see the art for free.

I like this Picasso painting of the coffee pot a lot, mainly because I like Coffee, and Picasso.

I also like this orange chair, because I like Orange and Chairs. No sitting!

And finally, I like this Andy Warhol print of Elizabeth Taylor from National Velvet. It's Amber's favorite movie. I like her best in Butterfield 8.

Does This Blog Make My Butt Look Big?

Colleen sent me this picture of an Elephant Bum. I'm not sure what to say, except that it sure is nice. Also, I wonder if I'll get any traffic from search engines from the phrase "Elephant Bum." British people might google "Elephant Fanny" and then be disappointed.

Not All Alligators Are Our Friends

This just in from the Associated Press:

Gator Dropped Off at Water Department
Officials are trying to figure out who dropped off a three-foot-long alligator in front of the Westchester County water department. A sign on the wooden crate containing the green alligator warned: ''Do not open. Live Gator.''

At first, workers weren't sure that it was alive because it was so still. But then it stirred.

Ed Sordellini, a machine and equipment operator said, ''We tapped the crate a little and it hissed and we all jumped back.''

The workers figure it was a Halloween prank and have reached out to wildlife experts.

My favorite part is that it hissed. Here are some other alligators. Friends or Foes?
Friend.

Foe.

Steel Magnolia

Today was what we call "Awesome" because I got to meet Miss Shirley MacLaine. What more could one wish for?
